Having an area where my students can sit comfortably would encourage them to contribute to our class discussions more eagerly. It is my goal as a teacher to create daily opportunities for my students to be active participants by engaging in a variety of activities such as singing, role-playing, storytelling, game playing, and so much more. Having a bright and colorful interactive rug would facilitate the teaching and learning process taking place in my classroom every day.
A new large bright rug with enough space to accommodate each one of my student groups would be just amazing! Students are so much happier and relaxed when the environment is pleasant and safe. Time and time again, research has shown that classrooms must be conducive to learning by being open, comfortable, and clean. I would love to create an area where students can sit together comfortably to interact and share ideas. In my teaching experience, most children love sitting on the floor. It is a type of flexible sitting which promotes 21st-century skills.
