Aboard the Marine Science Institute’s Aboard the Marine Science Institute research vessel, students will experience open water scientific activities that include: fish collecting and identification, water quality tests, benthic mud sampling, and plankton viewing. Our school is located in an area of our city in which water drains untreated directly to the Mokelumne River, making this an area of high concern. Educating students in this neighborhood as to the direct impact of their choices. We have previously taken students on this trip, and know what a wonderful and eye-opening experience it provides. Additionally, being able to connect what students are studying in the classroom to what they are able to see, touch, and experiences, creates a lasting impact on students’ lives.
About my class
