The goal of this project is to create a student-centered, self running classroom environment that maximizes instructional time. Fourth graders love to be independent and the more they can do for themselves, the more efficiently our class will run. Student accessible storage and organization is foundational to achieving this goal.
Students will be working together in cooperative learning groups most of the day and will need help organizing and accessing materials independently and quickly. I would like to have a small storage station and trash bin at each table group. I鈥檇 like to provide a small low bookshelf for each team to store texts and supplies, but that is costly, so a plastic storage cart for each group seems more economical. A large storage tray at each table will hold dry erase boards, markers, erasers, scissors, notebooks and work folders. Individual plastic book boxes for each student will help them organize their daily work and independent reading books.
Please help our students to develop organizational skills and maximize learning time by funding this project!
