Everyone likes to have fun and play, especially after doing Distance Learning. Last year, most of our students did online exercise videos or the Districts' P.E. online lessons developed by the resources teachers. The lessons engaged some of the students. But there's nothing like having actual sports equipment in their possession to give them inspiration to move.
Playing with new sports equipment (volleyballs, basketballs, soccer balls, playground balls, and bean bags) will bring a smile to the students faces. Many of them haven't touched a ball since March 2020. They don't have balls to play with at home. So seeing brand new equipment will motivate them to do the skills we are focusing on. When they have the courage and eagerness to play, they will be that much closer to reaching the high expectations for our P.E. Standards and Benchmarks. I know that every single piece of equipment will be played with properly and cared for because at Kapalama Elementary School we follow the 3 T's....Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Others, and Take Care of This Place.
