Students learn best when they feel comfortable and welcome in their classrooms. Especially for students who are already newcomers to the U.S., these supplies will create a classroom that is clean, healthy, and inviting for all students.
These are the basic tools to transform a classroom into a home, a welcoming space where students can bring their whole selves. The cleaning wipes will ensure that the classroom remains clean - something that puts young people's at ease and minimizes discomfort. The tissues and hand sanitizer will enable students to take care of their most basic health needs, especially as the weather starts to get cold. The rug and comfortable seating will let me create a space for relaxation and mindfulness during breaks. Finally, the kettle, cups, and snacks will enable me to provide tea and food to students- this is both as a gesture of welcome, hospitality, and community across cultures as well as addressing students' most basic needs so they are able to be fully engaged in learning.
