Making and tinkering is a part of STEM that gives students the opportunity to increase their problem-solving skills, improve fine motor skills, allows them a chance to be creative, and give them an opportunity to make something all on their own. Students will work with real tools like screwdrivers and hammers to make creations. Teachers will help students learn to use a real drill to take a part toys and build projects. Students will also use low-heat, child-safe glue guns.
These items will help give students a chance to use real tools to create and build all on their own. Students will use math skills to measure, count, and problem-solve. Students will also improve their social skills by having to work together with peers. This will support many learning opportunities in my classroom!
