I am a first-year teacher who has been hired to teach Kindergarten and I am so excited to be given this opportunity! As a first year teacher, I need help in creating a classroom full of resources that would directly benefit my students. I believe that play-based learning is so important in Kindergarten and I hope to foster that idea through the use of different STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) activities.
Kindergarteners are not too young to begin developing background knowledge in the fields of STEM!
By giving students blocks, magnets, tiles, bricks, play-doh, etc. they are able to begin developing foundational academic skills while also nurturing their natural curiosity and sense of exploration.
