My students are non-verbal and learn through hands on experiences. They have unique sensory needs, and when these needs are met they are able to grow, explore and discover.
Sensory bins allow me to meet my students sensory needs while I help them expand their knowledge! They can be used for every subject; letters and sight words for reading, numbers and shapes for math, community helpers and safety signs for social studies, animals for science and so much more. When you put the learning materials into the kinetic sand, "floam", or waterbeads it provides an immersive experience for my learners. They are fully engaged and excited about what they are learning, which can be very challenging to achieve when working with students with disabilities. Sensory bins truly bring excitement to education for them.
