Play kitchens encourage imagination and social development. Children love to socialize. They expand their vocabulary by engaging in conversations through role play. Playing in the kitchen also encourages teamwork. One student may be cooking and another washing dishes. Students use logical thinking skills by counting how many plates and cups are needed for the number of students eating. This teaches the importance of sharing. This is an important skill that will last a lifetime.
The Pretend & Play Kitchen will give my students the freedom to explore new concepts through play while learning vital life skills. It will be a great addition to our classroom and the social-emotional development of my students.
