Nearly all students from low鈥慽ncome households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education.
Because many of my students come from low-income homes, they worry constantly about where they can get school supplies. My hope for this project is that I will be able to provide supplies for my students so I can erase this worry from their mind. For this reason, there are many "basic" school supplies on my list. I don't want any student to be singled out because of their lack of school supplies. All students deserve to have the tools they need to be successful in the classroom.
My dream for my classroom is for it to be a safe haven for all of my students, regardless of their background. I strive to make my classroom a happy place that is homey and where all students feel comfortable. This includes having alternate seating for students who need it. With improved seating and plentiful supplies, my students will be able to focus on their education and forget their troubles for the time that they are in my classroom.
