Taking data on behavior and academic progress is a large part of my job, and providing methods for my teaching assistants to reliably take data can be a challenge. There are many programs currently available for use on tablets that will allow us to quickly take data with fidelity. These programs also turn data points into graphs, which will allow us to visually analyze a student's progress and modify or continue a program depending on the results. This will save us a lot of planning time, and will maximize the effectiveness of our programs, which is important because there is never enough time in a school day!
A lot of the general education curricula as well as Intervention curricula that I use in my classroom comes with supplemental, technology based activities. These activities help students practice working independently, because doing anything through a technology platform is usually more preferred than paper and pencil style tasks.
