The more diverse seating options will keep my kindergartners engaged and excited for learning. I have a few options already, but having more to choose from will give my students something to be excited about every day. They can come in and know the have the freedom to choose somewhere they can work at and be successful.
These options also help develop their social skills and how to work well with their classmates. I have had days where two students pick the same seat and this gives them a chance to figure it out together to solve their problem. The flexible seating is just all around fun for the kids! They get to try something new everyday, have freedom of choice but it can also lend itself in a way for kids to practice problem-solving skills and help them learn communication with their peers.
