In an effort to make connections and establish rapport with students, I'd like to provide my students with a place that is welcoming and is appealing to them. Through the use of manipulative and sensory objects (e.g., sand, LEGO, fidgets) students can use their creative imagination to steer them away from their troubles and worries; by doing so they can refocus their thoughts/feelings and work through troubles in a positive and calming way. The curriculum books and games requested will provide me with additional resources that I can use to support the social-emotional needs of my students during individual and/or group counseling sessions.
