Through the use of the camera I am able to capture students and their engagement of specific projects in and out of the classroom. I will be able to capture pictures on field trips that can be brought back to the classroom to engage students in discussion and further research of the unit we are studying.
Students will use the pictures taken from the use of this camera to include in interactive notebooks. For example after a trip to the zoo, students may print pictures and apply the skills they've learned during a comparison and contrasting lesson to write about the animals, to study their habitats, etc. Writing stories about their experiences by using the pictures as evidence of the project they will be writing about.
I will also be able to use the pictures as proof of student engagement in and outside of the classroom in my notebook for administrators and my district.
