Even the most resilient students have been impacted by Covid and have not been given the opportunity to explore through manipulatives. Therefore I am requesting a light table and manipulatives to help enhance students daily interaction with math (K.CC.1, K.MD.3) and literacy (K.RFS.1) while also incorporating science, technology, and engineering. Children are natural explorers and with this light table they will be able to expand their knowledge with endless opportunities.
I want to create a hands-on learning center that encompasses science, math, and literacy and allows all to be successful in learning. It will also allow them to learn in a fun way while meeting grade level standards.
Additionally this project will benefit both general and special education students. It will allow low visual students materials that have high contrast as the manipulatives are simple, colorful, and non-complex. The materials will hold student's attention by seeing it and pairing it tactilely.
