Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and keeps their brains active while working. When students have work time, they choose a seat that works best for them. Currently, my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: sitting on the floor with clipboards, using lap trays, or wobble chairs at their desks. Students are motivated when they have a choice in their seat. I find that they are more motivated and their work is completed much faster and precise when they get to choose. Students are active and need a space of their own to feel important with their learning!
