Completing hands on cooking lessons will bring a new level of independence to my students with special needs. We would like to do a weekly recipe that the students could also complete at home with minimal support.
Students in the life skills classroom need multiple opportunities for hands-on learning to retain those everyday skills. Students will learn how to make a variety of sandwiches including BLT and PB & J, waffles, toast, pudding, pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, pigs in a blanket, pizza, chicken tenders, hot chocolate, lemonade, ice tea, spaghetti, and deserts.
The more independent skills the students learn the more their confidence and self-worth improves.
