All of my students in my classroom and school come from a low socio-economic area of Las Vegas. It is very important to me to integrate play and fun with their academic learning; while building their social-emotional learning through a play-based learning style. In order for this to happen, I would need these materials to distribute to students for individual use; or for my students to have with the ability of sanitation afterwards. Currently, I have paid out of pocket for many resources for my students to feel comfortable and happy with their learning, and that includes flexible seating. I would love to introduce more play-based learning opportunities for my kiddos using these materials.
Since my students are kindergarteners, most-to-all of them are new to the social-emotional aspect of life, due to the pandemic; so having these tools and resources could help me better extend their growth and development of their academic and social skills. Many of my students have talked to me about loving the ability to play and learn what they need to know in my classroom; so I only want to develop and expand on that ability. My students have shown extensive growth in both their academic and their social-emotional skills, thanks to the play-based learning and activities I am able to do with them/will be able to do with them if I can receive these materials.
I have seen how choice and play can positively affect a student's learning, and I hope that additional options and incentives can help us grow more!
