Our students and staff are embarking on more authentic tasks to connect content across subject matter and with real life problems. From problem-based learning to coding our students are building skills needed for the 21st century workforce.
Students will work in teams and between grade levels to code and fly drones. We can use drones to have a birds-eye view of problems we tackle at our school from sustainability to playground design. Students will measure and code drones through obstacle courses for real life coding and math tasks. Measuring area and perimeter, than gaining a birds-eye view will enable students the hands-on experience needed to solidify their understanding of these concepts. The birds-eye view will give students new perspectives for measuring, scale and even writing prompts.
Our teachers will receive training on how to use drones, plan and integrate drones into the classroom and problem-based learning work. This will help them create meaningful learning experiences needed in a 21st century workforce.
