The Chime Choir of our school and music classes are currently using hand chimes that are over 10 years old. Due to regular everyday use of our chimes, gradual wear and tear are causing our current chimes to break and fall out of tune. In addition to using the chimes for a variety of music lessons in the classroom, the 30+ member chime choir uses them 3-4 times a week for practices and performances. Currently, we are borrowing a set from a sister school to finish out the year.
Chimers learn to read and count music while working with a group to produce a beautiful sound.
Chimes are a less expensive version of Hand Bells. Students learn to read, count and follow the music to play only their assigned notes. Learning to play chimes takes focus, determination, confidence, and ability to work with others to reach a common goal.
