My students' work on this project will lay the foundation for their understanding of their own power in their communities. This project is being presented not only to all the other freshman students, but also to the rest of the school, and it's important for these students to be able to display their hard work and research in a way that makes them proud. My students, through this project, are developing their social justice voice, and harnessing power for action. This project is instrumental for my students to understand that they have a place and responsibility in and for their communities. Moreover, that their voices matter​ and their interests and analysis of the world around them are valid.

About my class
