Our small close knit school wants to celebrate our Seniors academic achievements and post secondary plans. Going to college is a big deal! The majority of our students are a first generation college student from challenging socio-economic backgrounds, they are nervous about attending college. We want them to feel proud of themselves for their decision to enroll in college and to stay motivated to attend college in the Fall.
We want to make sure our Seniors are celebrated by our entire school population through a school-wide picnic hosted by our staff. Staff will barbecue and serve the food, DJ the event, and participate in a College Scavenger hunt with the students. Seniors will parade into the picnic with college gear on carrying a "Better Make Room" tote bag filled with goodies, and will sit in the college student VIP section.
Our students are special. They choose to attend a small school that focuses on creating safe environments for all students while promoting Restorative Justice practices throughout the community.
