A classroom is a home away from home. These items will help my students (and I) be ready for each and every day.
Here's what we plan to use these items for this year, and the coming years. We will be using the printer to print out important documents, worksheets, and of course their writing projects. We will be using the pencil sharpener so the students can write their rough drafts in pencil, and then revise their writing by crossing out, erasing, and making notes in the margins; a very important part of the writing process! We will be using the wire storage shelves to help organize our class journals. Last, but certainly not least, we will be using the laminator to preserve all their wonderful hard work!
These items may seem like they won't make that big of an impact on my students' learning, but having been in education for several years, I can assure you that these are the things that make life much smoother and richer in the classroom. Sometimes we don't need fancy computers (although those are wonderful too!) Sometimes we just need a good pencil sharpener and a whole of critical thinking!
