The school I work at is a federally funded Early Head Start/Head Start program that serves low income and at-risk families. We teach children starting from 6 weeks old until they are able to move on to kindergarten at age 5. Our outdoor area is very large but there is only a sandbox and a hill out there right now. Due to us being federally funded there is never enough money for us to enhance this area because the money is used inside the classroom.
For many of the students that attend here this is the only outdoor experience that they receive in their day. I would like to make sure that they have a safe, engaging and fun learning outdoor environment that they can develop their skills in. These materials will help students practice their gross motor skills like throwing, catching, kicking and running.
