Since coming back from quarantine, I am seeing that my students are finding focusing is one of the most challenging parts of coming back to school. Flexible seating options can help to keep students focused on their work. Standing desks and stools will help students that need to move around while working. Wobble chairs will help students with ADHD engage parts of their brain to make learning new information easier. Having multiple seating options creates natural small groups which help students achieve speaking and listening goals (ELA SL.7.1, SL.7.4, SL.7.6)
The digital classroom readies students for college and career life as well as creates different ways to interpret differential learning. Typing on chromebooks help make writing more enjoyable and efficient. Many students find using the trackpad difficult, and the wired mouse would help these students utilize their technology more effectively (ELA W.7.1, W.7.2, W.7.3, W.7.6). The headphones will allow students to listen to text while reading which will make differentiation while reading possible in a classroom (ELA RL7.10 and ELA RI.7.10)
