My classroom is working on developing sensory skills. We are learning how to process what we see, hear, taste, smell, and touch. The ability to process information taken in by our senses builds a foundation for higher-level learning.
Students who participate in this project will increase their language and vocabulary development, social and emotional skills, and problem solving abilities. I like to provide multiple ways for my students to connect ideas as each student learns in their own way. These materials will allow me to do that.
The Listening Center will be very helpful for students to listen to the Eric Carle books. I have Hispanic students who are developing their English language skills and English is not the language spoken in their home. We can use the Listening Center as a way for students to look at the words in the book as they hear them said out loud.
