My white board was broken when I inherited it, but that didn't stop it and me from giving all the love we could to these kids. Its hinge was hanging off and the cork board underneath was visible. The past few months has seen this white board on its last legs, literally, and it has recently completely fallen off. I try to support by leaning it up against the easel part, but it often falls.
I have no chalkboard, no smart board, and no other space to write notes for the students. I project images and videos on the paint chipped wall of my auditorium. I do not say this to garner pity, because I know I have made my classroom the best it can be, despite the physical challenges the 1932 built theatre has presented me with.
All I am asking for is one item to help me run my class. My students deserve to have the necessities to learn and the arts should be no exception. My elective class has as much weight on their GPA as any other class and I try to offer them an educational experience that reflects that.
I thank you for taking the time to read this and hope you will look into your hearts to help me with this small endeavor to provide a complete learning environment.
