Our school recently obtained 25 ukuleles, and the kids are so excited to play! This is a skill that they can keep for a lifetime. Many students do not end up joining band or orchestra because they cannot afford the instruments.
The ukulele is a very affordable and versatile instrument, giving students the opportunity to develop a life-long musical skill. However, we will need some additional supplies to help make our ukulele program a success. These tuners and replacement strings will help keep our ukes sounding great. I am leaving the students in charge of keeping our ukuleles in tune. This will help them develop a better ear for pitch-matching, and will help teach them responsibility and give them a sense of ownership of our ukulele program. Occasionally, strings worsen in condition or break, so it is important to have replacement strings on hand so there isn't a student in the classroom without a ukulele to play.
Thank you for supporting our project.
