This iPad is not going to be used for a specific project. This will be used on a daily basis when I am in their classroom holding small instruction for different subjects. I walk around class to class and do not have access to a Chromebook or iPad of my own to show them visuals. Instead, I use my phone; however, we are not supposed to have our phones out on campus. Additionally, I can never pull up anything on my phone because I can never get any service in the classroom so, often times, my students are unable to see what they are learning. I need something I can carry to all 5 classrooms I work in that is permitted, and that my students are able to operate to find what they are looking for.
In an ELA lesson, the students are given new vocabulary words each week they have to learn. With this iPad, they will have another tool to use to help them study their vocabulary and to find pictures that illustrate that word. For example, these students have never seen a tornado. During our weather unit, they were unable to picture what a tornado looks like and what it does. With an iPad, they would be able to see pictures of what they look like and what they do. This would help them better understand the lesson about weather when they see what it looks like and how it functions.
