Who would want to sit in stiff, metal chairs throughout the day, I know my 20 students would love to have the option of choosing where they can go to read, do some creative writing, or even work on math problems. The different flexible seating options will help students be in control of their learning and give them an opportunity to engage in whatever activity they are doing!
We will use this seating on a daily basis during independent and partner reading, small group intervention, writing, math and in many other ways --- the options are limitless! By giving first graders choice in where they sit allows them to not only take ownership in their seat, but also in their learning. This will help them grow and become successful throughout the year in first grade!
