This year seven students at Inspire qualified for the SkillsUSA Regional Competition in the categories of Digital Cinema Production, and Photography.
Our students took home gold and silver in the Digital Cinema Production Contest as well as 4th and 5th place in this contest. We also had a student qualify for state by placing 4th in the Photography Contest.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel. They provide educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation鈥檚 classrooms.
These SkillsUSA competitions are not only rigorous but also look excellent on job applications and college resumes. This experience and achievement is a huge step for these students and our school. This year has been a challenging one for our community and our school. This would enable students to pursue their dreams in spite of the horrible impacts of the Camp Fire in the fall semester.
In order for these students to compete at the SkillsUSA State Competition in Ontario (April 25-28) we are asking the community to help our students. We are looking for local support through donations, as it will be expensive for our competitors to reach their goals. We need money to pay for transportation, hotel rooms, competition expenses and fees.
