Our Special Needs Room is currently being transformed into an even more special place for students to focus and to complete assignments with comfort. I currently have a couple of small rugs, handmade pillows and 2 beanbag chairs. My students daily ask to sit in these comfortable places. I want these young people to be able to enter our room and feel safe and relaxed. I want my students be able to concentrate on their classwork.
Students with special needs are often able to shine when provided with a quiet place and individual or small group help. I have chosen a calming color to paint my room over the Thanksgiving holiday. I would like to add softer focused lighting and more comfortable places to sit and work.
