These items will help my students by helping them self-regulate. Often times, students with sensory processing disorders need to have certain sensory experiences or exposure to sensory items including sensory lights or toys to help them manage their sensory input. By giving my students these materials, they will be able to work on their own self-regulation skills. By helping my students with self-regulation, they will be able to make friends with each other and our teachers much easier. Students with sensory processing disorders will often lack social skills and will have maladaptive behaviors because they are either overloaded or lacking some sensory need they have. If we provide certain sensory stimulus to them, they may be able to calm themselves and have better relationships with those around them.
