The students will learn the alcohol marbling technique with the bisque bowls and glazes. This is a simple, yet advanced technique that they will not learn in most traditional opportunities. They will also learn skills using ordinary, everyday items that cause effects on the glazes and the science working behind the scenes that make these things possible. These will be practiced on the medallions and they will choose their favorite technique to use on the mug.
One of the the projects looks like chaos, but comes together to make a beautiful piece. We will talk about how to look at the chaos in our life at a given time, and see the beauty that comes about when we are "tried by fire (kiln metaphor- lol)."
