This Apple iPad Pro will support students’ learning and engagement as we navigate our online curriculum together. As a special education teacher who serves students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, it is always my goal to collaborate with classroom teachers. Technology enhances our ability to co-plan, -teach, -assess, and provide immediate, specific feedback to our students so that their learning opportunities are optimal.
By donating to this project, you will be directly impacting students in historically marginalized groups; specifically those with disabilities and living in poverty. Having the ability to synchronously and asynchronously plan, create, and teach across platforms in meaningful ways will ease stress for me, my co-teachers and, most importantly, the students we serve.
Students’ learning will be enhanced by applications, lessons, and tools where I will offer videos that bring reading and writing projects to life. Using the Garage Band for iPad Audio Recorder to interview students allows me to gain insight into their funds of knowledge, which ultimately keeps their interest during instruction. This feature also allows tracking of students’ reading fluency progress. Being able to use the drawing tools and iPad pencil while presenting a math lesson will support modeling, think alouds, and differentiated demonstrations of problem solving on the spot, whether in person or remote. Just a few examples.... Thank you so much for supporting this effort!
