Help my 8th grade students to create their Mars Lander/Rover to simulate a Mars landing! Students must keep their "Egg-Stronaut" (a raw egg) intact, when dropped from the roof of our building, simulating a Mars landing. The egg then needs to be able to roll in a separate device, simulating a Mars Rover. Students either need to bring in their own supplies, or I often have to purchase with my own money. This project supports our NGSS and STEM communities, and allows students to engage in inquiry-based learning, all while applying the concepts they learned thoughout the year through our: Energy, Force and Motion and Solar System units!
