A classroom tablet will allow for my students to explore the multiple uses of technology in a classroom setting.
We plan to use the tablet to document our learning, family connection/communication and practice reading, writing, and math skills.
One way we plan to use the tablet is to document our learning. Students will use the tablet to upload photos to a digital portfolio. The digital portfolios allow students to track and see their their growth. Photographing their work themselves puts accountability on the student.
The second way we plan to use the tablet is to practice skills. Students will have access to online learning programs; such as ABC Mouse and Teach Your Monster to Read. In our classroom we have 2 hours during the day where students rotate through learning centers. Having a tablet would allow for another technology type center to be added.
The tablet will also be used to communicate with parents via photos, videos, and messages! Students will learn to use QR codes to communicate with peers and parents.
The tablet can be used to document learning outside of the classroom during time spent at our Agricultural lab, garden, school functions, field trips, and more!
