My students need this sensory path so that they can come into our classroom ready to learn. The demands and expectations of students keep growing. They are expected to do so much academically. Providing them with the sensory path gives them an opportunity to take charge of their emotional growth and learning. When the sensory path is put in place, a student/class could complete the sensory path coming to/from our classroom or at any time they may need. This gives the students an opportunity to exert some energy in order for them to transition to/from the classroom ready to learn and grow.
Sensory paths utilize a series of movements to decrease behaviors while increasing cognition. This would not only help my students, but hopefully other students within the school.
These Carpet Mark-It Spots, Sit Spots and Riverstones would provide the sensory path in a non-traditional way. Usually, sensory paths are made on tile floor but the area where I would like to design it is a carpeted. These spots would safely attach to the carpet and allow for the students to jump, skip, crawl, march, walk, etc. through the sensory path. This sensory path will be used many times throughout the day and by other classrooms as well.
Thank you for helping our classroom/school be the best place to learn and grow!
