This project will allow Asher Elementary students to participate in the Kindness Rocks Project. We will order river rocks that are suitable for painting. We will provide students with rocks and acrylic paints and an opportunity to read, write, discuss and learn what kindness looks like in their world and how kindness can be an everyday behavior that benefits everyone involved in the kind act. Each student will have time to reflect and decorate a rock with an inspirational message or image that expresses how kindness makes our world a better place and how being kind can make their lives better in and out of school. The students will then display the rocks in a Kindness Garden in front of the elementary building. Everyday these rocks will visually remind students about kindness. I hope to keep this project going where each year students add a new rock to the garden. Also, it is proven that children with strengthened emotional competency and social awareness will be better able to focus on academic proficiency. Please help me to fund this project for my students.
