This project is student motivated! My students can see our resources running out and they don't want that to happen! With the packs of paper, I will be able to send the students home with practice problems and resources that will help us reach our class goal of all 3's on the EOG's! The chart paper will give me a way to create large displays of visual models of the content so my students can create a deeper understanding of what we are learning. The Spectrum Math and Science work books will give me additional resources to give my students so they can practice and hone in their skills. We take pages out of workbooks like these and send them home as homework, review or practice problems.
Every student deserves an interactive and engaging classroom experience. I will use the answer buzzers to create a game like setting so my students are engaged and have a little bit of friendly competition between each other as motivation! The dry erase lapboards will be used to give the students another platform to show mastery of a topic other than just boring pencil and paper. Believe it or not, students at all ages get excited and are more attentive when they get to use a white board and marker. I can use these white boards and the Proof! math game in learning stations as well.
All of the books like the Essential 55 and The Wild Card are books that have been recommended to me to read as a first year teacher still learning the ropes. These books will help me become a better teacher and they will give me ideas and strategies to help better serve the students that come to me every day to learn.
