My low income students students with special needs are struggling readers and writers, which hinders their performance in ELA and Math. As a special education teacher; every year there are so many changes in education. But something that seems to be consistent all throughout is technology. I try so many things in order to keep my students engaged and focused when they are with me. My students are eager to learn everyday. I believe if I am able to bring technology in the classroom it would make transitions so much smoother and learning more engaging. They would be able to have access to the text, right on their iPads where they will be able to annotate while they are reading. My students will also have access to the graphic organizers, sentence starters, that they need everyday. They will be able to build on their stamina in order to continue to be engage and complete their work with colorful and engaging as well as cultural relatable books. If we were to have technology in the classroom all handouts would be immediately available for all students and I would have access immediately to what they are doing. Students would be able to annotate right on the text, and have richer conversations with their peers about what they have read.
