This is the second year in our newly opened school. Teachers and administration have worked diligently to open up an additional public elementary school in this small yet populated urban city. However, teachers' classrooms are lacking hands-on learning resources. Unfortunately, funding is nowhere near what it should be across the country and budgeting at my school has allocated no money for teachers to spend in their classrooms. Everything seen in the classroom from decorations, student games, and reading books are one hundred percent funded by the classroom teacher.
Kindergartners learn through play, they need to touch everything and move about while learning. Materials such as the requested rhyming and opposite puzzles help foster their growth. Unifix(r) Word Ladders and letter connector cubes are hands on, therefore students can demonstrate their knowledge and skills and enjoy the activity all at the same time. In addition, the level reading books a-c will assist students at reading at their appropriate level. They will add to a growing student leveled classroom library!
