Right now my students have very little space in my classroom to complete learning activities that involve movement. It is difficult to even get to the pencil sharpener without tripping over someone鈥檚 backpack.
Arranging 32 desk/chair combos in a mobile unit in a way to provide my very kinesthetic learners the space they need is nearly impossible. The kids would absolutely love having tables and chairs. Not only could I add an element of movement (something these seventh graders need in order to focus and learn), but students would be sitting and working in collaborative groups every day. Talk is also such an important aspect of my English Language Arts. It鈥檚 a win-win! And backpacks could be stored right under the chairs!
