We have over 360 students at our middle school. Every student is unique, and every student has a different story. There is a portion of our student population which needs help with basic necessities so that they can thrive like their peers.
This project will provide non-perishable food items to allow us to send more meals home with students through our packed meals program. It includes salad kits, crackers, soup, granola bars, and other non-perishable food items that are currently included in our packed meals.
Our packed meal program serves our students in need over weekends and extended breaks but on a limited amount. We don't want any of our students going hungry when our school isn't in session, so this project would meet the need as often as a student would like. This food shelf will allow us to privately care for our students and remove the worry caused by hunger. We know that when students' most basic needs are met, they will also be able to learn.
