Help us keep our veggies fresh! I began the school garden program last year, and it has been a great way to spend time with kids after school and share my love of gardening. It also gives kids access to fresh produce on a regular basis, providing opportunities to teach about health and nutrition. Students help with every aspect of the garden and we hope to continue growing this program (pun intended).
We recently expanded the vegetable garden, and we will be needing a refrigerator to store the harvested/washed vegetables before they are made into lunches or sent home to families. We are able to grow year-round thanks to the greenhouse located on campus, and hope to eventually create a reliable "fresh food bank" for families in the community.
