Making models is a great way for students to visualize scientific concepts. It also gives them the opportunity to see abstract concepts such as chemical reactions or the process of photosynthesis. This project will help me provide my students with various art supplies they need to make models across units in science.
Some of the models we have or will be making are Earth's layers, balanced chemical equations, photosynthesis, cell models and cell analogies, body systems, ecosystems, newton's laws and Utah's geological history.
Art and models are a great way to engage students who are hands on learners and provide them additional avenues to learning mastery.
