Literacy groups are a daily activity in our classroom. While using the shared reading model, students come to the floor for a more cohesive learning experience. During these lessons, the carpet will provide a centralized area for collaborative learning and facilitate more engaging and effective activities. Reading Trackers will help our large percentage of English Language Learners as well as students below grade level to more easily decode and process what they鈥檙e reading with better comprehension. Having the students utilize post-it notes in response to tiered questioning helps show me how they are synthesizing the day鈥檚 lesson while chart paper helps anchor the skill so they can refer back throughout the unit. This collection of items will help create an immersive, literacy-rich learning environment for my students.
