With the items from my project, I will be able to meet my student's sensory needs in several ways. Students will have items to fidget with as they complete their work. They can also use weighted objects to help them stay calm and focused during work time. Between activities, they will have a chance to use these items to get ready for the next activity. Transitions are often hard for my class so these help to keep the learning going. The visual timer will also help with transitions so they will know how much time they have left with each activity.
When students sensory needs are met they will learn more because they are able to focus on their work. When students become upset they can use these items to become calm and complete their work. These items will assist students in their learning. They can create numbers and letters with foam paint and sand. They will be able to explore and learn about during science lesson in the sensory table such as weather, solids, liquids, and nature.
