Flexible seating is a way to help students collaborate more openly with their peers. The tables that I would like to get funded will be replacing the bulky desks that now reside in our classroom. Space is limited in our classroom, so having tables instead of desks would greatly improve the flow throughout our room.
We will use the tables for direct instruction, but we will also use them to set up center areas, separate center areas and other areas of the classroom, and students will be able to sit underneath them as DEAR time reading areas. The tables will help open our classroom up and allow my students to be more organized, along with keeping our room looking cleaner, too.
