Providing students with on-level, engaging texts can help them progress to reading at or above grade level by the end of the school year.
Since my classroom currently doesn't have many books, providing students with a plethora of books can serve to pique their curiosity and allow them to put their new "super" reading skills to practice.
The books included in this set are a mix of high-interest fiction, and nonfiction books from levels A-D. Students begin kindergarten at a level pre-A or A, and are expected to finish at a level D.
I also plan to use the books for our guided reading block, to help students practice key reading skills and promote understanding of concepts about print.
